About
There's a bit of controversy about About Me pages, especially if you're female, and I'll weigh in on the side of caution here and not include too much very personal information, though that rather goes against my general inclination. (I have a feeling as the site progresses I'll revert to my natural propensity for revelation.) When I have a business telephone, I will list that, but for the moment I will keep my sole telephone line private out of necessity. My date of birth is listed in most of my forum profiles, and there are pictures of me in my personal site's photo album. None of them are nude, not even the ill-advised college ones, and none of them will be, and let's leave it at that like civilized people.
Contact me by emailing me at bridget at kelly dot name. I apologize for the longhand email address; with search-engine spiders (which we like) come spammers' email-harvesting spiders, and I have a sophisticated system for foiling them that I haven't implemented yet. This is very much a work in progress, like most webpages, and we like to think of that as a positive thing, even though it means the seams and rivets tend to show a bit.
My real name is Bridget Kelly. I am known as Dragonlady7 throughout various forums and blogger sites all over the Internet. If there's another active dragonlady7, I don't know him or her; I only post in English for the most part so that's one way of screening out any impostors. The dragonlady7 name comes from a novel I began in about 1991, when I was too young to know any better. I don't think I'll be able to resist the temptation to post excerpts.
I am a writer, and have been for most of my life. My first webpage was created in about 1994 in the basement of my school's library, but due to a misunderstanding of the difference between a local machine and the actual Internet, it was never really published. I've written a number of novels, none quite completed; completed one for NaNoWriMo last year but never had the nerve to polish it for publication. Novels are like that.
I live with my boyfriend and programmer Dave (also known as Zobar). We share an apartment in Westchester, NY, but secretly long to move to Buffalo. (Not secretly any more!) Visit this page for more about Dave, and Hemulen is his own homepage. When this site is completed (there's rather an ambitious database under construction at the moment), you will have Dave to thank for the structural underpinnings of your rich Semantic Web experience here.
